    Reservations are made by car category only, so a specific model isn’t guaranteed. We’ll always prioritize giving you the model shown if it’s available, but if not, you’ll receive a car with similar size, features, and transmission to the Kia Sorento Plug-in Hybrid.

    Yes. We offer a strong hybrid and EV lineup, including the Kia Sorento Plug-in Hybrid. Iceland’s charging network is growing along the Ring Road and in major towns, and we do not add an EV road tax to your rental.

• • What is the minimum age to rent the Sorento Plug-in Hybrid?
    You must be 23 years or older and hold a valid driving licence for at least one year to rent this vehicle.

• • Do I need a credit card to rent this vehicle?
    Yes. A credit card in the main renter’s name is required to reserve and collect the vehicle. Hertz does not take a deposit, but we place an authorization hold on the card for a certain amount based on your rental.

• • What licence do I need to rent in Iceland?
    A valid driving licence held for at least one year. If your licence is not in Roman script, you must also present an International Driving Permit (IDP).

• • Does Hertz Iceland offer new cars?
    Yes. We keep our fleet fresh — all cars are under two years old, including the Sorento PHEV or similar.

• • Does the Sorento PHEV come with winter tyres?
    Yes. We automatically fit winter tyres during the legal season and switch back to summer tyres when conditions improve. Studded tyres may also be used within the allowed dates.

• • Where can I pick up my rental at Keflavík Airport?
    You’ll find us inside the KEF arrivals hall. Our rental desk is open 24/7 for pick-up and return.

• • Can I drive the Sorento PHEV on F-roads?
    No. This vehicle is not permitted on F-roads or in the highlands. It is allowed on roads no. 35 (Kjölur) and no. 550 (Kaldidalur) when conditions are safe and open. Always check road.is before you go.
