Bílaleiga Flugleiða ehf. has set a strategy to focus on minimizing the negative environmental impact of its operations and is constantly looking for ways to reduce the company’s direct and indirect environmental impact.
This includes:
- Select vehicles and accessories for our fleet based on operational efficiency, the manufacturer’s environmental focus, and approved third-party audits.
- Increase the number of environmentally friendly cars, e.g. fuel-efficient and ecological cars such as dual-link and electric vehicles. Hertz in Iceland intends to be at the forefront of Iceland’s energy exchange in the car rental market.
- Minimize negative environmental impacts from the activity through responsible use of resources, and the company’s waste is sorted, recycled, reused, or disposed of in accordance with regulations and good practices.
- Chemical purchases must be chosen based on environmental considerations as much as possible and the selection of suppliers accordingly.
- Emphasize continuous improvements in environmental matters and comply with the established laws and regulations that apply to the company’s operating environment at all times.
- Emphasize the increased involvement of the company’s employees in environmental issues through regular training and Hertz’s annual environmental day.
