Breaking it Down
The booking process on hertz.is is fully transparent: whatever you choose — return to a different location, added coverage, extras — is itemized and priced in your quote breakdown before you confirm, and if you choose to pay in advance, those selected items are charged upfront at that point. The one charge that can’t be shown upfront is the km-based road usage tax, since it’s calculated on actual distance driven during the rental plus an admin fee, so it’s only finalized after the car is returned. Separately, renters are responsible for any parking fines, tolls, or traffic tickets incurred during the rental period — Hertz Iceland does not cover these under any circumstance.
