Being nominated for “Iceland’s Leading Car Rental Company” for the 10th year in a row is something we’re incredibly proud of. This recognition reflects the trust locals and travellers alike place in us year after year. We’ve also had the honour of winning this title multiple times, but for us, it’s not just about awards, it’s about delivering a reliable experience every time someone picks up the keys and starts their journey.
55 Years of Driving Iceland Forward
2026 also marks 55 years of Hertz in Iceland. Since the beginning, our goal has been simple: to make it easy for travellers to explore Iceland with confidence. Over the decades, we’ve supported millions of self-drive trips, expanded our fleet to suit different travel styles, adapted to changing roads and travel trends, and built a team with strong local knowledge of driving conditions and safety. From the early days of tourism in Iceland to today’s growing Iceland visitors, we’ve simply continued to be part of the journey.
We offer a wide network of rental locations across the country, including key hubs at Keflavík International Airport, Reykjavík (both downtown and the domestic airport), Akureyri in the north, and Egilsstaðir in the east, along with additional stations throughout Iceland. This allows our customers to pick up and return vehicles easily while travelling between regions, making it more convenient to explore the country at their own pace.
