Reykjavík, November 2025 –
Hertz Iceland recently received the international World Travel Awards 2025 in the category
“Iceland’s Leading Car Rental Company,” which evaluates the performance, service, and quality
of car rental companies. This is the sixth year Hertz has received this award, having been
nominated for the prize for 9 consecutive years.
The World Travel Awards are among the most prestigious awards in the global tourism industry
and have been presented annually since 1993. Their goal is to reward companies that demonstrate
outstanding service, innovation, and professionalism in the field of travel and tourism.
“We are incredibly proud of this recognition,” says Sigurður Berndsen, CEO of Hertz Iceland.
“The nomination reflects the trust of our customers and the steadfast work our staff puts in
every day to create a safe and reliable experience for tourists and Icelanders who rent cars
from us.”
Hertz Iceland operates 11 service stations across the country, including at Keflavík Airport,
Reykjavík, and in the country’s main urban centers. In recent years, the company has implemented
diverse technical solutions to improve service, including through a partnership with RentalMatics,
which makes real-time fleet management more efficient and environmentally friendly.
“We view this nomination as confirmation that we are on the right track,” adds Sigurður.
“In Iceland, there are many excellent companies working in this field, but what separates Hertz
from others is stability, experience, and service built on decades of knowledge and trust.”
