Breaking it Down
F-road capability depends on ground clearance and genuine 4WD, not just SUV styling — check each vehicle page for its specific certification. The Toyota Land Cruiser 250 is Hertz Iceland’s flagship “F-Road Icon” guaranteed model; the Land Rover Defender and Dacia Duster (non-EV) are also strong highland picks. F-roads generally run open June–September, and river crossings are never covered by any protection package regardless of vehicle.
